Water Damage is Not Always Visible Right Away

Sometimes water damage is not always cut and dry. It can be hidden and takes time for it to show signs of damage. The moisture will absorb into the surrounding materials such as drywall, wood, foundations, insulation, and flooring causing substantial damage. Also, this can lead to mold growth, which will cause more damage and expense. Once water damage has been noticed it is very important to begin restoration to eliminate further damage and costs.
Water damage in hidden areas is not always easy to spot. I recommend always checking your basement after a big storm for flooding from a failed sump pump or huge cracks in the walls. Be sure to look at your ceilings in all rooms for wet spots. By doing this, you can detect the problem early and eliminate huge problems and costs.

Signs to look for:

  • Water Stains
  • Mold
  • Musty Smells
  • Peeling of paint, texture, or wallpaper
  • Warping/Blistering/Buckling of porous materials
